Spring

Spring Cleanup
To start off the season properly, we remove all leaves and debris from the lawn and landscaped areas, as well as dethatch all turf areas. All yard waste is transferred to a compost site for environmental recycling.

Fertilization/Weed Control
For your lawn to be the envy of your neighborhood, Spring fertilization is the foundation of a beautiful lawn. We apply two applications in early April and late May of fertilizer, pre-emergent and broad-leaf weed control.

Mowing
Throughout the Spring we mow on a weekly basis or as-needed according to the weather. We mow in different directions to keep the lawn growing in a consistent and even manner. Then we trim around obstacles where the mowers can't reach. Grass clippings are blown off of sidewalks, flower beds, landscaping, etc. As the property owner, be sure to water twice a week in extreme heat, preferably during the late evening or early morning.

Dethatching
Dethatching involves removing the matted layer of dead and decaying plant material between the grass and the soil. Thatch is not caused by leaving grass clippings on the lawn. Instead, thatch is an indication that dead plant stems and roots are not being broken down as quickly as new growth is taking place. Dethatching can be done at any time of the year.

Aeration
A standard in lawn maintenance. Aerating a lawn supplies the soil with air by poking holes in the ground using an aerator machine. It reduces soil compaction and controls thatch, while allowing water and fertilizer to move into the root zones. Lawns may be fertilized and seeded immediately after lawn aeration. Heavy traffic areas will require more frequent aeration.

Overseeding
Spring is one of the best times to overseed your lawn. Overseeding compensates for that natural slow down of the turf's reproduction. There are two major benefits to overseeding. First, you ensure your lawn stays thick and dense, or, if it has thinned, you will make it thick again. Second, thick grass has few, if any, weeds if it is mowed over 2 inches tall.

Mulching
Mulches can add to the beauty of the landscape by providing a cover of uniform color and interesting texture to the surface. We provide organic type mulches to new or existing landscape beds. We offer a wide variety and types of mulches made of natural substances, such as bark and wood chips that decompose over time and need to be replaced after a few years. Rock can be substituted upon request for certain applications.

Gutter Cleaning
Service includes gutter and downspout cleaning, either by hand removal, power blowing and/or flushing with water.

Summer

Mowing
In the heat of the summer, we adjust the mowing height to keep the lawn from burnout. We mow on a weekly basis or as-needed according to the weather.

Fertilization/Weed Control
Continue to be the envy of your neighborhood with Summer fertilization. We apply two applications approximately in July/August and August/September of slow-release fertilizer and broad-leaf weed control. Be sure to water your lawn in the drier months.

Edging
Edging defines the hardscapes from the lawnscapes. We trim sidewalks, driveways and other hardscapes as needed to keep the property looking uniform and clean.

Pruning and Hedge Manicuring
To maintain the desired shape and size of shrubs and ornamentals, as well as promote their healthy growth, we prune and manicure them as needed. Some plantings require an annual trim, where others need it to keep the balance and enhance the curb appeal. This service is done upon request.

Winter

Snow Removal
To reduce your property from buildup of snow and ice, our service includes removal of snow from sidewalks, steps, patios, walkways, driveways and parking lots in a timely manner. Services and fees range from 1" snowfall and the standard 2" or more snowfall. Snowfalls above 6" will incur additional fees.

Ice Control
To reduce the amount of ice buildup and to control formation of ice on walkways and hard surfaces, a mixture of salt, sand and ice melt will be used. This service will be done upon request.

Roof Raking
A precursor to preventing ice dams, roof and shingle damage, or loss of structural integrity of the dwelling unit, is to remove the snow buildup to a minimum of 4 feet from the roof's edge. Service includes removing the snow 4-5' from the roof edge and cleaning fallen snow from the perimeter of the dwelling unit.

Snow Hauling
When Winter snow accumulates and has nowhere to go until Spring, hauling the snow from the property creates more room for future snowfalls. Also, ask about snow stacking. Both of these services can be performed at your request.
